Stanton Manor provided the perfect setting for Abbey and Simon’s wonderful summer wedding celebration. From the moment I arrived, there was a real sense of excitement as family and friends gathered to celebrate their special day.

Abbey and Simon had included a pre-wedding session as part of their photography package, which meant they arrived on their wedding day feeling completely relaxed and confident in front of the camera. Having already spent time together before the wedding, they were able to forget about being photographed and simply enjoy every moment, allowing me to capture natural expressions, genuine laughter and the emotions that unfolded throughout the day.

With beautiful sunshine from start to finish, guests made the most of Stanton Manor’s stunning grounds while the relaxed atmosphere created countless opportunities for natural documentary photographs. One of the highlights of the day was spending a few quiet minutes together in the beautiful summer flower meadow, where Abbey and Simon could simply enjoy each other’s company while I captured some relaxed portraits before they returned to celebrate with their family and friends.

One of my favourite locations is the stunning summer flower meadow. When the flowers are in bloom, it provides an incredibly romantic setting for relaxed portraits filled with colour, warmth and natural light. Taking just a few quiet minutes away from the celebrations allows couples to enjoy each other’s company while creating photographs that feel effortless and genuine.

Throughout the day, the manor house itself also offers beautiful opportunities, with its historic character adding timeless elegance to every wedding gallery.

Planning a wedding at Stanton Manor is an exciting experience, so here are a few tips to help you make the most of your day.

Golden Hour Portraits

If the weather is kind, I always recommend setting aside around 15–20 minutes for sunset portraits. The softer evening light creates a beautiful natural glow and provides the perfect opportunity to capture relaxed photographs around the gardens and grounds.

For summer weddings, the flower meadow and surrounding countryside become especially beautiful as the sun begins to set, creating warm, romantic light without keeping you away from your guests for long.

Family Group Photographs

Family photographs are an important part of every wedding day, but they should never dominate the celebrations.

During a consultation with me, we can create a list of the group photographs you’d like in advance. Asking a family member or friend to help gather everyone together is a good idea and keeps everything running smoothly allowing you to spend more time enjoying your guests.

Confetti photographs are always one of the happiest moments of the day. Photographing them immediately after the ceremony allows everyone to join in while the excitement is still building.

Stanton Manor offers plenty of attractive indoor spaces, and if you’re happy to step outside for a few minutes with a white, cream or clear umbrella, we can still create beautiful photographs whatever the weather.

Sometimes unexpected weather produces some of the most memorable images of the entire day.

Timings

Every wedding is unique, so I always work with my couples to create a photography timeline that fits naturally around the day.

Allowing enough time for family photographs, relaxed couple portraits and a few sunset images helps everything flow smoothly while ensuring you spend as much time as possible celebrating with your guests.

Your wedding day passes incredibly quickly, and some of the best photographs are often the ones you never planned. Relax, spend time with your family and friends, and trust your suppliers to take care of the rest.

A well-planned timeline is always helpful, but weddings rarely run exactly to schedule.

Allowing a little flexibility keeps everyone relaxed and helps the day unfold naturally. Some of the most memorable moments happen unexpectedly, and those are often the photographs couples treasure the most.
